The Diaconate
The Diaconate is made up of 12 deacons who have been elected and ordained to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress, both within and beyond the community of faith. At Atascocita Presbyterian Church, our deacons minister through personal contact with all member families, providing meals, transportation, comfort, and support in times of joy and need. We strive to maintain connections with our college students and those serving in the military, and we reach out to our community through service and ministry.

Jane Church – Class of 2013
When I retired, after teaching for many years in California and Michigan, I decided it was time to come home to Texas. My husband Gerry and I chose this area because we had a daughter and her family already here. We were soon joined by our other daughter and her family. We now number fourteen when we gather together. In addition to family celebrations, reading and gardening are also a source of enjoyment for me. I look forward to serving as a Deacon at Atascocita Presbyterian Church and hope to learn and grow as I seek to walk closer with God. |
